Archive 57 is a limited-edition Indo–Victorian futurist label exploring the colonial exchange between India and Britain through garment construction, material, and historical form. Its conceptual foundation traces back to 1757 and the Battle of Plassey — a turning point that restructured the global movement of textiles, labour, and design between the two nations.

As a child, founder Taira Bhargava spent summers in Belgium accompanying her mother to antique doll fairs, where she encountered miniature Victorian garments made for Jumeau and Kestner dolls — silk bodices, hand-finished lace, and precise construction rendered at an intimate scale. That visual language continues to inform the house today.

Victorian silhouettes are reinterpreted through Indian craftsmanship using pure raw silk from Karnataka, matka silk from Bhagalpur, pure linen from Bihar, and hand-finished detailing developed alongside independent craftsmen across India.

Each style is produced in a strictly limited edition of 57 pieces.

Edition 01 was previewed in Paris in April 2026.
